New Express Entry Draw – Update

In September 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its first category-based drawing for the transport occupations and agriculture and agri-food occupations.

Transport Occupations – Results

Date and time of round: September 20, 2023

Program: Transport occupations

Number of invitations issued: 1,000

Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 435

This category focuses on candidates with transportation experience, such as commercial truck drivers, pilots, and aircraft assembly workers with the intention of securing the number of workers needed by Canada’s transportation industry.

To be eligible, you must have accumulated, within the past 3 years, at least 6 months of continuous work experience (in Canada or abroad) in an occupation listed below.

  • Managers in transportation
  • Railway carmen/women
  • Aircraft mechanics and aircraft inspectors
  • Air pilots, flight engineers and flying instructors
  • Air traffic controllers and related occupations
  • Deck officers, water transport
  • Engineer officers, water transport
  • Railway traffic controllers and marine traffic regulators
  • Transport truck drivers
  • Aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors

Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations – Results

Date and time of round: September 28, 2023

Program: Agriculture and agri-food occupations

Number of invitations issued: 600

Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 354

This category is for candidates with experience in the agriculture and agri-food industry, such as retail and wholesale butchers, farm supervisors, and agricultural service contractors, to help the industry acquire the workers it needs.

To be eligible, you must have accumulated, within the past 3 years, at least 6 months of continuous work experience (in Canada or abroad) in an occupation listed below.

  • Butchers – retail and wholesale
  • Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors
  • Contractors and supervisors, landscaping, grounds maintenance and horticulture services
