Testimonials by K.N. – Work Permit Extension

Hello, world. We finally had a few days of early summer weather here in Vancouver.

Today we would like to introduce a testimonial from one of our clients, who applied for a Work Permit extension under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) International Mobility Program – Professionals.

“ In 2021 Spring, when the Covid-19 vaccine had not yet progressed, I asked Satoko to help me with immigration procedures for my family to enter Canada from Japan. Since the application was accepted faster than I expected, I also requested Satoko to help me extend my Work Permit.

I was feeling anxious and worried about my application as there were few precedents in the past, and my application category was a difficult case to apply. However, Satoko was really sincere with me and sent me updates by email as needed. I really appreciate that I was able to extend the Work Permit for a longer-term than I expected.

In the future, I would like to ask Satoko to help me prepare to obtain my Permanent Residence in Canada. (K.N.)”

When I assisted K.N., there were a lot of travel restrictions in Canada. Then I supported his family to obtain a written authorization at first. After that, I supported the extension application of his Work Permit under the CPTPP category.

The CPTPP Work Permit is not like Intra-company Transferee Work Permit.  Therefore, it does not guarantee the extension after the initial one-year Work Permit. As I was aware of the issue, I have supported preparing more documents than required, including a detailed financial statement and business plan for the next two years. The extension is usually for one year for this category, but we really wanted to extend it for two years. As a result, his Work Permit extension was approved for two years as requested.

His family was also able to extend their status for the same duration. The ultimate goal is to have K.N. immigrate to Canada based on the company’s plan. I hope to continue supporting K.N. and his company. Just like this client, it could turn out to be a long-term relationship with a client in my profession. I think that is the virtue and attractiveness of my profession.
