Immigration News Announced in April 2024

Today, we would like to share two of the recent immigration news that you may find interesting.

1. Permanent Residence Fees Increase in 2024

Effective April 30, 2024, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has increased the fees for permanent residence applications. If you are planning to apply for permanent residence, please note the new application fee below.

Permanent residence fees increase every two years to account for inflation. (Click here to read the article for the application fee update in 2022.)

2. Off-Campus Work Hours Increase in Fall 2024

The IRCC has announced that the temporary policy allowing international students to work off-campus for more than 20 hours a week ended on April 30, 2024, and introduced the new rule that in the fall of 2024, allowing international students to work off-campus up to 24 hours a week.
