Testimonials by S.G. – Working Holiday for PR

Hello, world. Daylight saving time began on March 12, here in Canada!

Today we would like to introduce a testimonial from one of our clients, who applied for a Working Holiday from a Study Permit with a plan to apply for permanent residence in the future.

“I had no idea what I needed to do to apply for permanent residence, but after a consultation with Satoko, she explained to me in simple terms how to obtain permanent residence, what methods are available, and which method would best suit my future goals.

In the process, I decided to switch from a Study Permit to a Working Holiday visa. When I was preparing my application, I struggled to get the necessary documents, but with Satoko’s quick response and decision-making, my application was successfully approved.

Satoko suggested ideas that I could not find on the Internet, so I am glad I asked Satoko, who has a lot of experience to help me. I would not have succeeded on my own. Thank you for always being sincere in helping me obtain my permanent residency. (S.G.)

This Client was already in Canada as a student.  Her goal was to apply for a permanent residency, but she was not sure if and how she could pursue the dream.  During the consultation, I suggested she switch her Study Permit to a Working Holiday visa (IEC program) considering her age and background.

As she had lived in a foreign country for more than 6 months prior to coming to Canada, the application process took longer than usual.  We were relieved that her IEC application was approved.

I was happy to support her in the first step to immigrating to Canada and look forward to supporting her PR application in the future.

IEC for PR application

International Experience Canada (IEC)

IEC is a program designed to provide youth (aged 18 to 35) with the opportunity to travel and work in Canada. There are three IEC categories:

  • Working Holiday
  • Young Professionals
  • International Co-op (Internship)

Each program has unique requirements and differs by country of applicant’s citizenship. You can check the eligibility below.

Work Experience is Important in Applying for Permanent Residence

There are several ways to obtain permanent residence in Canada, but in most cases, work experience in Canada is the key to the success of your application.

In order to work in Canada, you need to have some sort of Work Permit. The type of Work Permit you get for a Working Holiday is an open Work Permit. This lets you work for almost any employer in Canada.

By using your Working Holiday wisely, you can gain work experience that will be helpful for your permanent residence application. The time you spend on Working Holiday will matter when you apply for permanent residence in the future.
