What is Express Entry

Express Entry is a points-based immigration management system for key economic immigration programs, including;

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • a portion of the Provincial Nominee Program

Registering a Profile:

Candidates who choose to obtain permanent residence through Express Entry must complete a detailed profile online. After registering a profile, eligible candidates will automatically receive a score out of 1,200 points based on their profile and will be ranked against the other candidates in the pool.

Invitation to Apply (ITA):

The higher a candidate’s points, the greater chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA). It is required to have an ITA to apply for permanent residence. After having received an ITA, candidates have 60 days to submit their application for permanent residence.
