This time, we will talk about one of the Permanent Resident (PR) programs, Canada Experience Class (CEC).
What is Canada Experience Class (CEC) ?
There are approximately 60 PR programs (Federal and Provincial) in Canada.
The CEC is one of the Federal programs for those who have gained a work experience in Canada for more than one year. The applicant also needs to meet the minimum language requirement depending on the occupation level.
If you are on a Working Holiday Visa or a Job specific Work Permit and have worked more than one year, you are likely to be eligible to apply for a PR under the CEC program. You can check the detailed eligibilities through the link below.
Invitation to Apply (ITA) and Round of Invitation
The Federal PR program is run by the Express Entry program. Under the program, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) after submitting the initial profile online. You will need the ITA to apply for a PR. You can check “How it works” in details through the link below.
The ITA is usually held every two weeks. The last draw was remarkable as follows.

CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 75
As you can see the first highlighted, the number of invitations issued were over 27,000 this time whereas the maximum number of ITA was 5000 before the date.
The reason for the drastic increase was the lowest score of ITA, which was just 75. It is usually over 450 for the CEC candidates. Basically most of the CEC candidates were invited on Feb. 13. This many ITAs have never been held in the Express Entry history.
This is the clear indication from the Canadian government that they are willing to retain temporary foreign workers to allow them to immigrate to Canada.
