The PR Card is the official proof of your status as a permanent resident in Canada. You need the card if you plan on returning to Canada by any commercial transporter, such as a plane, train, boat or bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PR Card Renewal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for a PR Card, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">be a permanent resident of Canada;<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">be physically present in Canada;<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">meet the residency requirement (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/application\/application-forms-guides\/guide-5445-applying-permanent-resident-card-card-first-application-replacement-renewal-change-gender-identifier.html#appendixA\">Appendix A<\/a> \u2013 Residency obligation);<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\"><strong>not<\/strong> be under an effective removal order;<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\"><strong>not<\/strong> be a Canadian citizen; <strong>and<\/strong><\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\"><strong>not<\/strong> be convicted of an offense related to the misuse of a PR Card<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Appendix\u3000A<\/strong>\uff1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must meet the residency obligation to get a PR Card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have been a permanent resident for five (5)&nbsp;years or more, you must have been physically present in Canada for a minimum of 730&nbsp;days within the past five&nbsp;(5)&nbsp;years.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have been a permanent resident for less than five (5)&nbsp;years, you must show that you will be able to meet the minimum of 730&nbsp;days of physical presence in Canada within five (5)&nbsp;years of the date you became a permanent resident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is recommended to track your travel record as below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/canadian-citizenship\/become-canadian-citizen\/eligibility\/record-trips-outside-canada.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/canadian-citizenship\/become-canadian-citizen\/eligibility\/record-trips-outside-canada.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>===<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Immigration regulations are updated constantly.
