{"id":9460,"date":"2024-10-17T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-18T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/?p=9460"},"modified":"2024-10-17T10:23:07","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T14:23:07","slug":"update-on-pgwp-eligibility-requirement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/en-CA\/2024\/10\/17\/update-on-pgwp-eligibility-requirement\/","title":{"rendered":"Update on PGWP Eligibility Requirement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following up on our <a href=\"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/en-CA\/2024\/10\/03\/new-rules-for-study-permit-pgwp-sowp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>previous article<\/strong><\/a>, today we would like to provide an update on the important changes to the International Student Programs. <span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" class=\"vk_highlighter\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\">Effective November 1, 2024, the eligibility criteria for applying for a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/en-CA\/2022\/10\/20\/extends-online-study-period-until-aug-2023%ef%bf%bc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)<\/a><\/strong> will change significantly.<span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><\/span>\u3001<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-\u6e21\u822a\u524d\u691c\u67fb-\u8fc5\u901f\u6297\u539f\u691c\u67fb\u3082\u8a31\u53ef\">What remains the same<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for a PGWP, you must continue to meet the general requirements even after November 1, 2024, and complete a study program at a designated learning institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" class=\"vk_highlighter\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\">If you apply for a PGWP before November 1, 2024, you must only meet the current eligibility criteria.<\/span> If you have already completed your studies, we recommend that you apply for a PGWP as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-\u6e21\u822a\u524d\u691c\u67fb-\u8fc5\u901f\u6297\u539f\u691c\u67fb\u3082\u8a31\u53ef\">New Eligibility Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" class=\"vk_highlighter\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\">From 1 November 2024, all PGWP applicants must provide proof of language ability to meet the language requirements for the PGWP. Your test results must be&nbsp;less than 2&nbsp;years old&nbsp;when you submit your application.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/corporate\/publications-manuals\/operational-bulletins-manuals\/standard-requirements\/language-requirements\/test-equivalency-charts.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>check here<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to find out about the language test required and the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25b6\ufe0eIf you submitted your Study Permit application before November 1, 2024:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you submitted your&nbsp;Study Permit application&nbsp;before November 1, 2024, and are applying for a PGWP on or after November 1, 2024, you must meet the following new requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you graduated with a bachelor\u2019s degree, master\u2019s degree, or doctoral degree from a university: <\/strong>You must prove your English or French language skills with an English Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 7 in English or Niveaux de competence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 7 in French in all 4 language areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you graduated from any other university program: <\/strong>You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of CLB 7 in English or NCLC 7 in French in all 4 language areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you graduated from a college program or any other program:<\/strong> You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of CLB 5 in English or NCLC 5 in French in all 4 language areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25b6\ufe0eIf you submit your Study Permit application on or after November 1, 2024:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you submit your&nbsp;Study Permit application on or after November 1, 2024, you must meet the following new requirements to be eligible to apply for a PGWP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you graduated with a bachelor\u2019s degree, master\u2019s degree, or doctoral degree from a university: <\/strong>You must prove your English or French language skills with a minimum level of CLB 7 in English or NCLC 7 in French in all 4 language areas.
