Our holiday seasons are quickly approaching. We assume many people are planning for the holiday.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you may know, the travel restrictions to Canada have been extended to January 21, 2021.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We posted <a href=\"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/en-CA\/test2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our blog about the travel restrctions<\/a> on October 1, 2020.  Please review the contents to refresh your memory.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, there are a few things updated. The following is the recap of the travel restctions and updates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can travel to Canada?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&lt;Canadians \/ Permanent Residents&gt;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>a Canadian citizen;<\/li><li>a dual Canadian citizen with a<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/visit-canada\/dual-canadian-citizens-visit-canada.html\">valid Canadian passport<\/a>&nbsp;or<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/visit-canada\/dual-canadian-citizens-visit-canada.html#findOut\">special authorization<\/a>;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>a permanent resident of Canada;<\/li><li>a person registered under Canada\u2019s Indian Act;<\/li><li>a protected person.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&lt;Foreigners&gt;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible to travel to Canada as a foreign national, you must meet the requirements such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>you have&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/coronavirus-covid19\/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html#citizen-pr\">an immediate family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident<\/a>;<\/li><li>you are traveling as an essential worker either traveling from the USA or you are exempt from the travel restrictions;<\/li><li>you receive a pre-approval letter for your Work Permit \/ Study Permit applications;<\/li><li>you have been approved to become a permanent resident of Canada;<\/li><li>air and marine crew member;<\/li><li>any person who is coming at the invitation of the Minister of Health for COVID-19 assistance;<\/li><li>any person whose purpose is to make medical deliveries<\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">You must be travelling directly from the US for a non-discretionary purpose<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">You must be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/coronavirus-covid19\/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html#exempt\">exempt from the travel restrictions<\/a>&nbsp;and be travelling for a non-discretionary purpose<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The updated foreigners are listed as highlighted.  Some people need to have a written authorization to come to Canada in order toe be &#8220;exempt from the travel restrictions&#8221;.  Let&#8217;s take a closer look at the &#8220;written authorization&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a written authorization?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following is the summary of the &#8220;exempt from the travel restrictions&#8221; including the information of the written authorization.  Please look at the details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/coronavirus-covid19\/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html#enter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">from here on the IRCC website<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25c9How to unite with immediate family member who is in Canada temporarily<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An&nbsp;<strong>immediate family member<\/strong>&nbsp;is defined as a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>spouse or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/immigration-citizenship\/helpcentre\/glossary.html#common_law_partner\">common-law partner<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/immigration-citizenship\/helpcentre\/glossary.html#dependent_child\">dependent child<\/a>&nbsp;(yours, your spouse\u2019s or your common-law partner\u2019s)<\/li><li>dependent child of a dependent child<\/li><li>parent or step-parent (yours, your spouse\u2019s or your common-law partner\u2019s)<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/coronavirus-covid19\/visitors\/immediate-family.html#centred-popup\">guardian or tutor<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV or visitor visa): <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the instructions for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/coronavirus-covid19\/visitors\/visa.html#new\">How to apply for a visitor visa<\/a>. We\u2019ll assess your reasons for travel and make a decision on your visitor visa and your written authorization at the same time. Remember to submit evidence to show you\u2019re eligible to travel at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you have an eTA or need one to travel:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have an eTA, or you\u2019re applying for one, you also need to contact us through our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/secure.cic.gc.ca\/enquiries-renseignements\/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx\">Web form<\/a>&nbsp;to tell us how you meet the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/coronavirus-covid19\/travel-restrictions-exemptions.html#enter\">eligibility requirements to travel at this time<\/a>. We\u2019ll assess your reasons for travel and make a decision on your eTA, if you don\u2019t have one yet, and your written authorization.  It will take approximately 2 weeks to hear from IRCC, but it may take longer if the information is missing or if you submit the request more than once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides the above, <span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">you are required to provide the information through the app called ArriveCAN and have a 14-day quarantine plan prior to your departure.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a lot of things you need to be careful when you travel to Canada under the travel restrictions.
