{"id":800,"date":"2020-10-12T12:40:11","date_gmt":"2020-10-12T19:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/?p=800"},"modified":"2022-01-04T14:29:46","modified_gmt":"2022-01-04T19:29:46","slug":"speeding-up-process-for-a-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/en-CA\/2020\/10\/12\/speeding-up-process-for-a-family\/","title":{"rendered":"Speeding up process for a family!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to the recent Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada&#8217;s (IRCC)&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/news\/2020\/09\/ircc-speeding-up-processing-for-spousal-applications.html\">news release<\/a>, IRCC will speed up spousal application processing and help families build their lives together in Canada.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is good news for those who have already submitted the family sponsorship applications or those who plan to do so!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the below extract, IRCC is aiming to finalize approximately 6000 spousal applications each month starting from October.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has increased the number of decision makers on spousal applications in Canada by 66%, to process spousal applications more quickly and reduce couples\u2019 wait times. <\/p><p>IRCC is leveraging new technology in a pilot to digitize paper applications so they can be processed more efficiently by IRCC employees working remotely and at various worksites. In addition to implementing facilitative biometrics measures, IRCC will be piloting, in the upcoming weeks, technology to conduct interviews with applicants remotely, in adherence with public health protocols. <\/p><p>With these initiatives, IRCC aims to accelerate, prioritize and finalize approximately 6,000 spousal applications each month from October until December 2020. Combined with processing to date, this rate will lead to about 49,000 decisions by the end of this year.&#8221;<\/p><cite>&#8220;IRCC News Release on Sept. 24, 2020&#8221; <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&lt;Spousal Sponsorship&gt;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the key elements of a sponsor. You can sponsor your spouse, partner, or dependent child if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">You\u2019re at least 18 years old<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">You\u2019re a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/acts\/I-5\/\">Indian Act<\/a><\/span><ul><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">If you\u2019re a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, you must show that you plan to live in Canada when the persons you want to sponsor become permanent residents.<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">You can\u2019t sponsor someone if you\u2019re a permanent resident living outside Canada.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">You\u2019re able to prove that you\u2019re not receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">you can provide for the basic needs of any persons you want to sponsor<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;In most cases, there is no low-income-cut-off (LICO) for a spouse, partner or dependent child sponsorships. However, if a dependent child you are sponsoring has a dependent child of their own, you must meet a minimum LICO score. LICO is determined by the Canadian government each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, you can sponsor your:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">spouse,<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">common-law partner,<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">conjugal partner,<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">dependent child.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You must show that you\u2019ll live in Canada when the sponsored person becomes a permanent resident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a lot of required documents for this category.
