Today we would like to talk about the updates on the new pathway to Canada (TR to PR program). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check our previous article <a href=\"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/en-CA\/2021\/05\/17\/updates-on-the-tr-to-pr-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>from here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Update on the current application status<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*<strong>Applications for temporary workers in other selected essential occupations has reached its limit and closed in July 2021.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 14, 2021 Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the temporary resident to permanent resident program. This is a new program allows up to 90,000 workers and international graduates to obtain permanent residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3 streams along with their quotas are listed as follows. Two has reached its limit and <span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">only the stream for temporary workers in health care is open for applications.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>20,000 applications for temporary workers in health care\uff08<span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">As of August 5, 2021, more than 3,300 people applied<\/span>\uff09<\/li><li>30,000 applications for temporary workers in other selected essential occupations \uff08<span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">Applications closed.<\/span>\uff09<\/li><li>40,000 applications for international students who graduated from a Canadian institution\uff08<span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">Applications closed.<\/span>\uff09<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check the live number of href=\"https:\/\/www.cic.gc.ca\/english\/immigrate\/trpr\/eligibility-results.asp?healthServices=yes&amp;essential=yes&amp;graduate=yes&amp;test=l4&amp;language=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>from here. <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Open work permit available for this program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 15, 2021 IRCC announced that <span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">individuals who have applied for the TR to PR program will be eligible for an open work permit while awaiting the results of their application.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work permit is available starting July 26, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To qualify for this open work permit, the applicants must show that they<\/strong>\uff1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">have successfully submitted an application under one of the new permanent residence pathway\u2019s streams<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">held a valid work permit, or were authorized to work without a work permit, at the time their permanent residence application was submitted<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">hold a valid work permit that is set to expire within the next 4 months<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">have temporary resident status, maintained status or are eligible to restore their status at the time their open work permit application is submitted<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">are in Canada at the time their open work permit application is submitted<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">were employed in any occupation at the time their permanent residence application was submitted<\/span><\/li><li><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">meet the language requirements of the stream under which they applied at the time their permanent residence application was submitted<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quick facts\uff1a<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An applicant\u2019s spouse or common-law partner and dependent children 18 years or older may also be eligible to apply for an open work permit under this policy, if they are also in Canada.<\/li><li>Applications for the new work permit should be submitted online.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Work permits issued under this policy will be valid until December 31, 2022.<\/li><li>Those who have applied to extend their work permit before their current one has expired may maintain their status and have authorization to work without a permit under the same conditions as the original while the new permit is being processed.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check more
