The higher a candidate&#8217;s points, the greater chance of receiving an <span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">Invitation to Apply (ITA).<\/span>&nbsp;<span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">It is required to have an ITA to apply for permanent residence.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After having received an ITA on or after&nbsp;June 29, 2021, candidates have <span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\" class=\"vk_highlighter\">60 days<\/span> to submit  their application for permanent residence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check \u201cHow Express Entry works\u201d in details through the link below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/immigrate-canada\/express-entry\/works.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/immigrate-canada\/express-entry\/works.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The reason behind the changes to the ITA period<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the below extract, at the start of COVID-19 pandemic, the ITA period was temporarily increased to 90 days from standard 60 days. It was meant to allow applicants to have more time to prepare their documents.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IRCC says Canada continues to welcome more newcomers.
