Following up on our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/onepacificimmigration.com\/en-CA\/2025\/01\/16\/express-entry-remove-points-for-job-offers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>previous article<\/strong><\/a>, today we would like to share the latest update on the changes to the Express Entry points system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" class=\"vk_highlighter\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\">As of March 25, 2025, candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category under the Express Entry system no longer receive additional points for having a job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-\u6e21\u822a\u524d\u691c\u67fb-\u8fc5\u901f\u6297\u539f\u691c\u67fb\u3082\u8a31\u53ef\">Details of the Change<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to March 25, 2025, candidates with a LMIA could receive points for a job offer as part of the Express Entry system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" class=\"vk_highlighter\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\">However, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the removal of this point system for the CEC category. As a result, current and future CEC candidates in the Express Entry pool no longer receive points based on the following job offers:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Senior Management Occupations (NOC\u00a000): 200\u00a0points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other Skilled Occupations\u00a0(NOC 0, 1, 2, 3): 50\u00a0points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Points for candidates with Job Offers are automatically deleted, but it may take several days for the change to take effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-\u6e21\u822a\u524d\u691c\u67fb-\u8fc5\u901f\u6297\u539f\u691c\u67fb\u3082\u8a31\u53ef\">Impact on Permanent Resident Applicants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This change affects candidates applying for permanent residence under the CEC program. <strong>If you have an Invitation to Apply (ITA), that has not expired or been declined, this change will not affect your application.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-color=\"#fffd6b\" class=\"vk_highlighter\" style=\"background: linear-gradient(transparent 60%,rgba(255, 253, 107, 0.7) 0);\">Job offer points will continue to be considered for the following programs, so make sure to update the job offer details accurately in your Express Entry profile:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Federal Skilled Trades Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A portion of the Provincial Nominee Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on this change, please check the following link. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/immigrate-canada\/express-entry\/documents\/job-offer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/immigrate-canada\/express-entry\/documents\/job-offer.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\uff1d\uff1d\uff1d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting March 25, 2025, the removal of job offer points in the CEC category is expected to lead to a lower Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff for ITA issuance in this category.
